On Saturday afternoon, February 20th, at about 2pm MST our server was essentially destroyed during a fire drill that went awry.  We still don’t have complete details but our host (the company that maintains the server) was still unable to estimate when a solution would be in place as of Monday morning, February 22nd. Facing the prospect of being offline for longer than 48 hours, we decided at that point to switch to another host.  We were fortunate enough to have recent backups of our website so, aside from a comment or two that was placed between early Saturday morning and the time the outage occurred later that day, we lost no data.

If you sent email to us while the site was down, it may still arrive as most email providers retry sending it for approximately 72 hours automatically.  So you shouldn’t need to resend the email unless it was urgent.

We want to offer you a heartfelt apology for being gone so long!  We understand that it is disconcerting, especially for those who are in crisis and seeking community.  We waited as long as we could for the technicians in the data center where our server is housed to work out the situation.  However, it became apparent that wouldn’t be forthcoming in an acceptable timetable given the nature of this site and its outreach to people in great need.  So we took action.  And we thank you for your patience and loyalty to Marriage Missions International.

Our new host assures us they have many contingency plans in place and we are not likely to face a repeat of the events of the past weekend.

May God bless you!
