The Grace Full Weekend

Grace full weekend - Principles for loving Dollar Photo LoveAs I head into spending some time with my husband —loving him “as unto the Lord” and enjoying a little “date time” together, I want to post a few marriage quotes beforehand. They are ones that I believe will inspire you. It concerns having a grace full weekend as a married couple. We sure need to have those.

Having a Grace Full Weekend

First, I came across the following quote that is written by author and speaker Emerson Eggerichs. He titled it “Wisdom for the Weekend.” It seems appropriate to prayerfully ponder these thoughts as we head for the weekend:

“I am going to try to let my love and reverence for Christ spill over onto my spouse.
If I love Christ, I should come across more lovingly to my spouse.
If I reverence Christ, I should come across more respectfully to my spouse.”

That’s true, isn’t it? It goes along with some other things I also read in the book, Grace Filled Marriage. Dr Tim Kimmel wrote this book with his wife. It’s one that I HIGHLY recommend that you read. It is one of my favorites. We sure need more marriages that exhibit grace that is extended to both marriage partners. Tim calls it “the missing piece” that should be present in every marriage.

Unquenchable Love and Concern

Tim writes:

“True marital greatness is a passionate love for Jesus Christ that shows itself in an unquenchable love and concern for each other.”

He also goes on to write:

“When a grace-filled spouse gets up, the priority that most occupies their thinking is, ‘How can I let God’s love for me empower me to love others, especially my spouse, today? … A grace-filled marriage exudes a passionate love from Jesus and for Jesus that shows itself in an unquenchable love and concern for our spouse.”

That is so very true. I hope you will prayerfully consider these thoughts.

May you have a Grace Full Weekend!

I pray that as you head into the weekend (and during the weeks ahead) you will show “unquenchable love and concern” for your spouse. Let him or her know and see that you love, as Christ loves. May your love reveal and reflect the love of Jesus within your marriage today and beyond.

May you be inspired to treat your spouse as God would have you, as a “circle of two” that live a life of love.

This weekend, for all who read this blog, my husband Steve and I are “asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.(Colossians 1:9-10)
