Every Day Prayer

Every Day Prayer Pixabay hand-909626_1920I don’t know how your day is going —your week, this month, this year, your marriage, or whatever. But I have a feeling that like my husband Steve and me, you may find yourself needing more strength and insight from the Lord today than you did yesterday. If not, hang on because sooner or later, you will find yourself there, you can count on it. That is why it is good to infuse every day prayer into your life together.

For those of you who do feel a need for extra strength, the following prayer may be the inspiration you need. It’s something you can breathe out, to draw a little closer to the One who cares, our Lord Jesus Christ. The author of this prayer is unknown, but God knows.

Apply this especially to your marriage and what God would want to do in you and through you.

         Every Day Prayer

Every day I need you Lord.
But this day especially,
I need some extra strength
to face what ever is to be.

This day more than any day
I need to feel you near.
I need you to fortify my courage
and to overcome my fear.

By myself, I cannot meet
the challenge of the hour.
There are times when humans help,
but we need a higher power.

We need You to assist us bear what must be borne.
And so dear Lord, I pray —
hold on to my trembling hand
and be near me today.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Whatever you are up to your eyebrows in, and in whatever way you need it, I pray this helps in some way today.

  1. (USA)  Praying this prayer with you today. Thank you for sharing it Cindy. And there is no one like Peter to offer the perfect verse when we’re facing hardship -1 Peter 1:8-9 is my life verse. Blessings, Debi

    1. Thanks Debi. LOVE the 1 Peter verses you refer to in your comment. And it’s SO appropriate for all the drama that was dumped into our lives today with my brother (living out of state with no one to care for him) and his heart attack, surgery and all. Though I don’t see all God is doing, I KNOW He is at work and trust Him for whatever comes at us in the days/weeks/months ahead. I’m thankful that “all is well” with my soul.
