STANDING FOR THE HEALING OF MY MARRIAGE
I am standing for the healing of my marriage.
I will not give up, give in,
give out, nor give over
’til the healing takes place.
I made a vow; I said the words; and I gave the pledge.
I gave a ring; I took a ring; and I gave myself.
I trusted GOD, and said the words, and meant the words:
in sickness and in health,
in sorrow and in joy,
for better or for worse,
for richer or for poorer,
in good times and in bad…
so NOW I am STANDING.
I will NOT sit down, let down, slow down,
calm down, fall down, look down nor be down
’til the BREAKDOWN is TORN DOWN!
I refuse to put my eyes on outward circumstances,
or listen to prophets of doom.
I will not buy into what is trendy, worldly, popular,
convenient, easy, quick,
thrifty, or advantageous.
Nor will I settle for a cheap imitation of God’s real thing.
I will not seek to lower God’s standard,
twist God’s will, rewrite God’s word,
violate God’s covenant,
or accept what God hates—which is namely… divorce!
In a world of filth, I will stay pure.
Even though surrounded by lies I will speak the truth.
Where hopelessness abounds,
I will hope in GOD.
Where revenge is easier, I will bless instead of curse;
and where the odds are stacked against me,
I will trust in God’s faithfulness.
I am a STANDER!
And I will not acquiesce, compromise, quarrel or quit…
I have made the choice.
I have set my face, entered the race, believed the Word,
and TRUSTED GOD for the outcome.
I will allow neither the reaction of my spouse,
nor the urging of my friends,
the advice of my loved ones,
economic hardship,
nor the prompting of the devil
to make me let up, slow up, blow up, or give up
UNTIL MY MARRIAGE IS HEALED.

My husband also left four years ago. My marriage had been really good at times and really rough at times. I have always stood for marriage; prayed hard for my marriage; and stood when he left. I joined rmm three years ago which has been a time of accelerated growth for me in my relationship with God. My husband divorced me two years ago; but has never stopped coming to visit me. I understand everyone’s exhaustion. It’s hard to see him every day as he comes to see his kids; but never shows any desire to connect with me. I’m so grateful to the Lord that he is committed to his kids and grand baby. There has been many women (Facebook; texting; and meeting them during the last years of our marriage and separation). I’m exhausted in praying and seeing no change. I have no Christian friends who are supporting me after this long. Only my mother. Even my siblings have given up and are concerned I will never know love or marriage again. Being this tired and lonely for my husband it has become more of a struggle. I will join you on Monday fasting and prayer. I just got back from Manta Ecuador on a mission trip and saw amazing miracles that mass prayer brought about. I pray God will here our joined prayers; our joined sorrows; our joined hearts beseeching Him to move in a mighty way on our behalf to His glory and honor; in Jesus name!
I have been standing praying and fasting for restoration just like you. I will fast on Mondays as well. You aren’t alone I am going through the same thing. God Bless, Christine
I have exactly the same problem, my husband and I separated early this year because of something I did and before we could resolve it, my husband married another woman, although I know everything that happened is my fault but I want to make amend and be united back with my husband. I don’t want a divorce.
Hi, my Christian wife and I have been married less than 2 years. She has left the marriage now for 7 months and has decided that in a couple of months she wants us to work on the divorce. ? Very sad and hard on my heart for her. Don’t know what else to do.
Hi John, dd your wife come on a green card?
My marriage feels like it is falling apart in front if my eyes and there is nothing I can do about it at all. I will not give up, we have been married 19 years so I’m praying for God to put His work into our marriage and send a miracle to make it right again! I would really appreciate it if you all could pray for me and my spouse as Well! All the glory to God. Thank you all in advance
Amen.
I need prayers for restoration of my marriage to my Ex husband Chris. I ask, seek, and knock for God to bring workers to witness the gospel to him. I am hoping for his salvation. That God would soften his heart toward me and reopen the lines of honest communication between us. He would want to see me again and date me. We could go to church, dinner, and walks together. That God would remove the other woman that contributed to putting our marriage asunder. Send both of them a Godly husband to marry.
One of them has a husband she divorced. Help her to reconcile with her husband and have him be the father to her children. I am asking for a miracle of a second chance to have a full door open to get my husband back and be a testimony of a remarriage that glorifies God. That I wouldn’t h asve to worry about other woman. I’d be the only one and his daughter would love me and accept me. I hope to have a marriage where the Lord says what God has joined together let not man put asunder. That Chris and I could have a ministry that glorifies God. Have friends that support our marriage and help us to do God’s will in the name of Jesus Christ Amen
What should I do? I forced myself on my wife once before we were married, before I knew Jesus. Now, it’s been years and we haven’t had sex due to the trauma. I don’t know how to fix it. I am trying to be a good husband. I caused this pain and she has forgiven me but there is still this barrier we can’t get past. Any ideas? Please be praying for us.
I have shared that statement of faith – standing for my marriage – to several prayer partners and those friends who have questions about what I am doing (trusting in God’s time) and everyone who has heard me read it will never ask me again what I am doing. That summed it up so perfectly. My wife asked me to go down and spend this weekend-April 20-22 with her and our 2 granddaughters- 🙏🏾🙏🏾For her to see Jesus in me and have trust that with Him in our marriage it will be a testament to for His glory!!
Rich, Praise God you have been a “Stander”. You are a living testimony of the power of standing, interceding, and never giving up on your marriage. Thank you for sharing this. You have encouraged many!
Pray to restore my marriage. I am asking you Lord the way we are living apart from one another is grieving your sprit. Pray to help me bring my marriage glory and honor to your name and bring reconciliation I seek. Amen.
Please help me in prayer for my husband who is not saved. I pray that the Lord will soften his heart, and he will freely give he’s life to christ.
Amen! We stand in prayer with you, believing God will draw him to Himself and he will say, “YES”!
