Here in the U.S. we’re celebrating a day of Thanksgiving. I realize that other parts of the world are celebrating it too… some on this day and some on other days. But wherever you are in the world, every day is to be a day of thanksgiving. There’s ALWAYS something to say thank you to God for… no matter how tough things might be in your home and your marriage.
I wanted to write this blog earlier in the day, but we had some family here and I just couldn’t take the time to write. I’ve been thankful in my heart, but writing it down has been difficult. That is because I wanted to spend time with them. (Plus, it takes a lot of time to get our Thanksgiving feast ready to put on the table.)
Thank You God!
My husband Steve said that he thought I should just wait until Monday to write another blog. He knows how tired I am right now (our family members have gone). He also knows how during holidays, there aren’t as many people visiting the web site. But how could I not say (or rather, write) thank you to God in a type of public forum? I feel compelled. God is so good. Through even the tough times, we have so much to be thankful for.
I recently read something that Nancy Leigh DeMoss wrote on the subject of giving thanks. It spoke truth to my heart. In her devotional book, A Quiet Place, she wrote:
“Thanksgiving is a debt. It is something we owe. When we bring our thanks before God, we are recognizing Him as the source of every blessing, every protection, every heartbeat, every rescue from trials —even when His chosen form of deliverance just means supplying us the perseverance we need to see it through. We have no life, no hope, no health, no grace, no strength, no peace, no holiness, no ANYTHING apart from what He has given and continues to give us.”
And that’s what I feel. I’m thankful for the good, the difficult, and everything in between. I would have nothing and be nothing, if it wasn’t for Him, and His amazing grace.
Pause and Say Thank You
I hope you will join me. Prayerfully look within your life and within your marriage. Pause, and thank God for that, which God brings to your heart to give thanks. God has a plan of redemption for everything He has brought, and everything He has allowed. I encourage you to participate with Him. It’s important to remember to:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.” (Psalm 95:2-3)

Thank you Mrs. Wright for your blog and your ministry and I thank you for not waiting until Monday :) Since I accidentally by the grace of God ran across your website, I have visited it almost everyday. I desire to one day minister to folks like you have. I’m going through a rough time right now but God has not left me. What an amazing God we serve. To him be the glory always and forever more! Your sister in Christ, Yoli
Thank you Yoli… you definitely made my day. I pray that the Lord ministers to your needs… so sorry for the “rough time” you are going through. I also pray that someday God helps you to help others in their difficult situations. That’s what the Lord has done to us and I can’t even start to tell you what a privilege it is to participate with God in this amazing way.
May you never forget to be thankful –even for the tough times, because even in and after those times, God can bring blessings. God bless you, Yoli.
