We encourage you to PRAY… Pray that God will help you and give you the strength you need as you face trials The following is something that we pray will inspire and encourage you on this matter.
Pray and P.U.S.H.
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with bright light and the Savior appeared. The Lord told the man He had work for him to do. He showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. This, the man did, day after day.
For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down with his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin. He was sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.
Pray Despite Signs of Discouragement
Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the Adversary decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the man’s weary mind. “You’ve been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn’t budged. Why kill yourself over this? You’re never going to move it.” Thus, this gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.
“Why kill myself over this?” he thought. “I’ll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort and that’ll be good enough.”
And that’s just what he planned to do. That is until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.
“Lord” he said, “I’ve labored long and hard in Your service. I’ve been putting all my strength to do that, which You’ve asked. Yet, after all this time, I haven’t even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What’s wrong? Why am I failing?”
The Lord’s Response as We Pray
The Lord responded compassionately.
“My friend, when I asked you to serve Me —you accepted. I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you’ve done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to Me —with your strength spent, thinking that you’ve failed. But is that really so?”
“Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscular. Your back sinew is mighty. Plus, your hands are callused from the constant pressure. And your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you’ve grown much and your abilities now surpass that ,which you used to have. Yet you haven’t moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push. You were to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. This you’ve done. I, my friend, will now move the rock.”
At times, when we hear from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants. What God ACTUALLY wants is just simple OBEDIENCE and FAITH IN HIM. He also wants us to trust Him and:
PRAY
By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains. But know that it’s still God who moves the mountains. So:

I know I made many mistakes in my life and I know I have a lot to learn. Four days ago, I lost the man I loved, my high school sweetheart, Nick, due to silly and childish names. We met freshman year of high school on Valentine’s Day 2012. Because of my short temper and lack of communication, it is my fault on everything. God, make him see that I need him in my life. Make him see that I am dealing with so much pain. I am to the very point where whenever I breathe, my chest hurts and I can feel a very sharp pain on the sides of my skull. I need your help and strength, God.
I might not be the most deserving person in the world, but I need your help. I had nightmares where I did not survive and I know that I worked hard for all these years for Nick to be with me. I know he loves me, too and texted all of my apologies. The last four days have been the worst in my life. I’ve also lost many people in my family and Nick was the only one that really helped me get it through with life. He was the only one that did not criticize me and loved me for who I am and for all of my flaws. He’s my best friend, the love of my life. I don’t want the almost three years to be ended now, not now.
Please God, watch over both Nick and I. I can’t take any of the tears anymore. I can’t eat and I can’t sleep. Please God, bring him back with me. I’m in a broken relationship. I need prayer for strength and increased faith that although I prayed for reconciliation and nothing has happened that God is still working on us. I will PUSH as I have just learned to do. I know that no matter how complicated our situation is that God can fix it. Please pray for us for we are both hurting.

I love Michael so much. We even go to the same church. In spite of all the bad people say about him, of which some I have confirmed to be true, I still love him and I see a good man in him. All I want is to be with him. I want to marry him and have his children. I want to go back with him to his country if he decides to go home. I want God to answer me. But Michael went ahead and married another woman. That makes me cry every day and night. All my wishes are suddenly so impossible. Lord have mercy on me. I still want him and I can’t accept his new wife because I believe he doesn’t love her. Few days to his wedding he told me he loves me and can’t get me off his mind. I could sense he wanted to change his mind but everyone was already excited about the marriage. I wish this was all a dream but hey this is life, right in my face.
Emeldah, Please, please, please do what you can to turn your back on Michael. Yes, you may love him, and yes, he may or may not love you (although he had no business telling you that after he had made his wedding vow to another woman). When he said “I do” in pledging his love and fidelity to this woman, who is now his wife (whether you want to accept her or not, and who you don’t believe he loves), he also made his pledge to God. You can carry all kinds of contrary feelings and beliefs possible, but at the moment that he said, “I do” he also said, “I won’t” to going after any other woman. That is the truth. God pays attention to pledges like that. Michael entered into a covenant relationship of marriage with this woman and God, “from this day forward.” For you to get in between him and his now wife, would be wrong. He is no longer yours to have… as horribly sad as that is to hear.
My heart cries for you Emeldah. I can only imagine the immensity of the pain. But the deed is done, whether it should have been done or not. But as the Bible says, “what God has joined together, let no man separate.” That includes women (you) too. The temptation will be great, but please, please, please work with God to run away from the temptation to spend even one more minute with this man. Your heart and attention needs to turn in a different direction now that he is married. Trust God with all your heart that He will turn this tragedy into something He will redeem. He did that throughout the Bible –especially with Jesus. He took the bad that was done, and made another path of good out of it. I pray that for you. I pray that as you lean upon the Lord, He will eventually open your eyes to the good He can create out of the bad that was done to you. Pray for Michael –that he will not go outside of God’s will for his life and now that he made that vow, he will have the integrity to follow through with what he promised. And pray for this woman, as hard as that will be. If she isn’t loved (as you believe) then she will eventually see that and it will hurt her deeply.
I pray for you Emeldah –that God will bind up your broken heart. I pray the Lord helps you, guides you, comforts you, speaks to you, and works in and through you in this situation. I also pray God infuses hope into your heart that you will eventually experience better days –ones that will bring a smile to your heart. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!” (Romans 15:13) “May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.” (Colossians 1:11) And “may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ to whom be the glory for ever and ever.” (Hebrews 13:20-21)
