This new teaching on marriage and divorce is somewhat complex. It was never scripturally taught and lots of people didn’t understand from a biblical view. I’m torn as I am a 2nd time wife for almost 25 years. Both spouses are alive but there’s no intention of reconnecting. Am I living in adultery? Am I to divorce my current husband in order to line up with the word of God?
I would consider Mark 10:12, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, and Romans 7:2-3; also that sin does not become less sinful the longer it continues. ‘Sin doesn’t die of old age.’
